Graduation Banquet Arrangement

Last semester, the night before graduation, we in the Flower Center were busily making the arrangements for the graduation festivities. This wasn't my first time working with evergreens, but it was by far the largest arrangement I'd made with them, and my hands and arms were definitely scratched and bleeding by the time I was done.

This is what the arrangement looked like after I'd gotten all the greenery in, and trust me, Spruce and Holly isn't exactly the kindest thing to green a design with. Once I'd gotten this far, I didn't want to have to put any flowers in it. I thought it looked beautiful like this . . . but alas, the flowers had to go in . . .

With the white Mums, purple Carnations, Bells of Ireland, and Monte Casino I guess it turned out okay. Honestly, I was quite happy with the finished result, if not for my bloodied arms. Mine was by far the largest arrangement made that night, and unlike many of the other girls, I did it by myself. It was the Graduation Banquet arrangement, and I was nothing but proud to tell all my graduating friends to watch for it. :)

It was really pretty without the flowers, but the flowers did make the piece! I have always said you are amazingly talented!
